What is the importance of Mayfair to the GT brand?

The Advanced Derma Care range for men is described as ‘cosmeceutical’. What does that mean?

A cosmeceutical product contains the most active and bioactive ingredients possible to give a desired result, especially as it relates to how the skin cell actually functions.

Products also contain peptide technology – how does that help men’s skin?

A peptide is a chain of two or more amino acids, which combine to form proteins within the body. In skincare, peptides can be useful ingredients because the skin's structure is comprised primarily of the proteins collagen and elastin as well as hyaluronic acid. Peptides penetrate the top layer of the skin and send signals to the cells to let them know how to function.

We’ve heard of double action grooming products, but the Triple Action Revitalise Eye Cream sounds pretty clever…

It’s been formulated to deal with three signs of ageing: lines and wrinkles around the eye, a loss of the skin’s elasticity and firmness, and evening out the skin tone which relates to fatigue.

GT products are fragranced with babassu and bergamot. We’ve heard of bergamot, but what’s babassu?

It’s a light yellow vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the babassu palm, which grows in the Amazon. It has properties similar to coconut oil and is used in much the same way by indigenous peoples. It’s gently moisturising and penetrates the skin quickly without leaving a sheen. When combined with bergamot, it gives an incredibly fresh smell, which is an entirely coincidental but fabulous byproduct.

Rosehip oil, aloe vera, honey, wheat, ginger – why does the brand use natural ingredients?

Using natural and plant-based ingredients that are rich in nutrients and antioxidants helps the skin to repair and keep it moisturised. It’s a gentler option than chemicals and synthetics that can strip away the skin’s natural balance.
