There’s only so much a topical treatment can do for your skin. Just as everything in life is about balance… the same goes for a glowing complexion. If you’re anything like us, you’ve been living under the widely observed idea that 8 glasses of water a day will do the trick in keeping you hydrated, happy, and looking healthy – we feel you!
But, all that changed when we met Depuravita’s founder, Sandra Nassima. A woman whom we can only describe as someone who makes you want to stop everything you’re doing and go all ‘Eat. Pray. Love.’ – inspiring all sorts of lifestyle changes. She is magical in every sense of the word and has created some of the most beautiful supplements and elixirs that genuinely work. Here, we detail a few of her key formulas you need to get on STAT, listing the ingredients, why they work and why we love them. First up? Let's talk electrolytes.
From sports drink to skincare, electrolyte-based cosmetics have quickly become the new frontier in beauty. Brands left and right have been formulating products packed with electrolytes thanks to their water retentive properties.
They’re the secret sauce in the drinks that quench your thirst after a hard-hitting cycling class, hot yoga session, and let’s be real – hangover. Why is that? Electrolytes are minerals that conduct electricity when they're mixed with water. These minerals include magnesium, sodium, calcium, chloride, potassium, and phosphate. The reason they work their magic so quickly is that water with electrolytes mirrors more closely what’s in our blood than drinking water alone, and where electrolytes flow, water will go, leading to healthy hydration.
The product: Hello Wrinkles
Why we love it: The easiest way to amp up our daily dose of H20? Hello Wrinkles. It’s packed with highly potent collagen peptides, powerful Q10 antioxidants, and essential minerals – and is lime-infused. Its job is to enable skin cells to lock in moisture, recharge collagen levels and maximise elasticity in our skin… who needs Botox anyway?
Mix it with 400ml of water (1 cup) and you’re on your way to a radiant glow.
Here’s what we know: Ceramides are a class of fatty acids called lipids. They’re naturally found in skin cells and make up about 50 percent of the outer layer of skin (epidermis). Recently gaining popularity for their anti-aging benefits, they’re responsible for creating a strong barrier to prevent permeability aka locking moisture into your skin and protecting your epidermis from environmental damage.
The downside? As we age, these hardworking fatty acids are lost over time, resulting in dull, dry skin. The solution? Supplementing your skin with extra ceramide.
Taking all of this into account, Sandra developed something pretty phenomenal and even dubs it, “facelift in a chocolate”. Do we have your attention?
The product: Collagen Chocolate
Why we love it: First of all… chocolate. Second of all… chocolate with a purpose. Combining raw cacao (78%) with Ceramosides TM means we’re getting the benefits of both packed into a bitesize treat disguised as a supplement. You’re welcome.
Cocoa extract has been proven to be very effective at preserving skin’s moisture balance by restoring the lipidic layer of our skin, reinforcing the skin barrier and helping in the case of dry and damaged skin. Ultimately, it’s the BFF of ceramide and when working together they make one hell of a team.
Each chocolate contains 30mg of recommended daily dose of Ceramosides. Take one chocolate daily.
The pandemic isn’t truly over, and the stress it’s put on our bodies and even our skin is significant. Now, more than ever, we need all the help we can get – enter: grape seeds. Their richness in antioxidant and anti-aging active ingredients, above all the famous resveratrol (a plant compound found in red wine linked to health benefits such as protecting brain function and low blood pressure), make them the skin super heroes we all need.
Grape seeds are packed with antioxidants, including phenolic acids, anthocyanins, flavonoids, and oligomeric proanthocyanidin complexes. In other words, they can provide a strong protection against oxidative stress, tissue damage and inflammation (the bane of our lives).
The product: Absolute Glow Plus
Why we love it: Put your best face forward. This full-spectrum skin supplement deserves a feature all on its own (stay tuned) – but until then, we’re delivering the cliff notes. With Absolute Glow Plus, Sandra has taken a rare blend of exquisite antioxidants and vitamins and created the super supplement we all need. French red grape seed extract is just ONE of the many magical ingredients. Others include, Ashwagandha, Silver Fir Branch extract, cacao extract, and reishi mushroom extract.
To get the best results, take 2 to 4 pills per day after meals.
The lesson of the day? Some damage can be undone... it’s time to turn the volume up on your glow.
